Very interesting for the Journalism 2.0 session. The New York Times, probably the most prestigious and innovative world newspaper, has opened up a new design which includes several Web 2.0 features: Blogs, Digg.com (Meneame) type news, Wikipedia type topic pages or del.icio.us type personal links. “We wanted to give our readers a greater voice”, explains the editor in chief in a letter to the readers.

The redesign focuses on larger pages, as people do have bigger monitors nowadays. Multimedia has also been introduces, as broadband is also more extended. As of Web 2.0, the newspaper has introduces a list of most e-mailed and blogged articles and most searched information. Many terms, names of people and places are also linked to their special topic page, which is quite similar to what the Wikipedia does.

The del.icio.us type feature is not working yet. It will be called MyTimes and will let users organize their favorite web sources of information (from the whole WWW). What’s more, Times editors and reporters will be publicly offering their guidance to readers, as del.icio.us does with all of its users who want to share their favorite links.

No sé si habéis visto lo que dice un tipo de Salon.com, que le ha parecido tan buena la web que se va a dar de baja de la edición de papel:
